Julia Callas, Registered Associate MFT #161425
Whether you’re an adult navigating anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, or life transitions; a teen struggling with overwhelming emotions; or a couple wanting to build a strong foundation before marriage, Julia Callas offers a warm, practical, and compassionate approach to therapy. She helps clients feel genuinely understood while providing clear tools and structure that create meaningful, lasting change.
Julia works with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, self-doubt, perfectionism, and major life transitions. She believes therapy should be both supportive and empowering—helping clients better understand themselves while developing practical skills to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and resilience.
Julia also has a natural ability to connect with adolescents. She creates a safe, genuine space where teens can build confidence, develop emotional regulation skills, and strengthen communication at home, at school, and in relationships. She is especially skilled at working with teens who feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, rumination, self-doubt, or pressure to “have it all together.”
In addition to her work with adults and teens, Julia offers premarital and foundational couples therapy using Prepare/Enrich, an evidence-informed assessment and curriculum designed to help couples identify strengths, clarify values, and proactively address common challenges before unhealthy patterns develop. Whether you’re newly engaged, early in marriage, or simply looking to strengthen your relationship, Julia helps couples improve communication, navigate conflict more effectively, and build lasting emotional connection. Research has found that couples who participate in premarital education programs such as Prepare/Enrich reduce their risk of divorce by approximately 30% while reporting stronger communication and greater relationship satisfaction.
Julia takes a person-centered approach, integrating evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS/Parts Work), Bowen Family Systems, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). She tailors each session to the unique needs, goals, and personality of the individual or couple she is working with. Julia is also EMDR trained and practices from a trauma-informed perspective.
Julia is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hope International University and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach.
Julia sees clients in person at our Hermosa Beach office and offers secure telehealth appointments throughout California. She practices under the supervision of Whitney Boole, LMFT #93107.
