Julia Callas, AMFT #161425

For teens who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, or big emotions—and for couples who want to build a strong foundation before marriage—Julia Callas is steady, warm, and practical. Julia helps clients feel understood while also offering clear tools and structure to create real change.

Julia creates a safe, genuine space where teens can build confidence, learn emotional regulation skills, and strengthen communication—at home, at school, and in relationships. She is especially skilled at connecting with adolescents who feel stuck in ruminating thoughts, self-doubt, or pressure to “have it all together.”

In addition to working with teens, Julia offers premarital and foundational couples therapy using Prepare/Enrich, an evidence-informed assessment and curriculum that helps couples identify strengths, clarify values, and proactively address common challenges—before patterns become painful. Whether you’re newly engaged, early in marriage, or simply wanting to strengthen your relationship, Julia supports couples in building communication, conflict skills, and emotional closeness from the start.  Research shows that couples who participate in premarital education programs such as Prepare/Enrich reduce their risk of divorce by approximately 30% and report stronger communication and relationship satisfaction.

Julia takes a person-centered approach and integrates tools from CBT, DBT, IFS (parts work), Bowen Family Systems, and EFT, tailoring therapy to each client’s goals and personality. She is also EMDR trained and trauma-informed.

Julia is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Hope International University and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Cal State Long Beach.

Julia sees clients in-person in our offices and also offers telehealth across California. She is working under the supervision of Whitney Boole, LMFT #93107.
